Ever wonder why traffic enforcers and emergency officers wear mesh safety vests? It’s because these vests come in handy where visibility is at an utmost importance.

You can easily spot traffic enforcers on the road when you see the vest they are wearing. Emergency personnel wearing these vests can be seen easily even if there’s a storm or a cloud of smoke. Most of these safety vests have high-contrast colors that make it visible even in lowlight conditions. Some even sports reflective stripes and elastic strips on side while other models even have pockets where one can put small, light objects.

Extreme working environments like mining also calls for the use of safety vests. Miners are divided into different groups and their vests’ colors depend on the color assigned to their teams.

Mesh fabric is used for breathable comfort even in harsh conditions. This fabric is composed of tiny strings or wires that are woven together at specific intervals, creating small openings in the process.

Because of their efficacy, a number of mesh safety vests are given the approval of the American National Standards Institute or ANSI, a not-for-profit organization that overseas the development of consensus standards for products and services in the US.

Perhaps the best use of this safety vest comes during the time of emergencies. Rescue officers and other volunteer workers are often seen wearing these vests on top of their safety gears so that people can easily recognize them. With this safety device, visibility is no longer a problem.
