We all love to play with our pets. Cuddling them seemed to take away all the stresses we feel. Well, cats and dogs are social animal, and they like to be cuddled by their owners. But there are times when we need them to keep them in a confined area – when we are busy or when the kids play around the house. In these cases, we need pet safety gates.
Every pet owner would agree that we should all spend time away from our pets. Confinement might be needed when health issues are concerned. For example, if your pets are sick, then it’s best to keep them confined up until they recover. Basically, there are two types of pet safety gates. The first one is the pressure-mounted gate, called as such because they use pressure to keep their position in the doorway. These devices are equipped with expandable edges to allow users to easily release the tension whenever they want to remove it from its current position. This is one of the advantages of pressure mounted gates – they are mostly used for temporary confinements.
Hinge gates, on the other hand, are attached to the doorway using simple hinge system. Installing is easy as you only need some basic tools like screw driver. And because it is permanently attached to the doorway, hinge gates are an excellent choice of you want your pet confinement to be permanent.
Mesh gates are not advisable, especially for dogs as they would only scratch or chew them. For cats, get a slightly taller gate that has no crevices because they could squeeze in to the narrowest of gaps or jump over the gate.
